OFC Top 100 Movies of All Time

Online Film Community’s Top 100 Movies of All Time

A short while ago I mentioned the OFC’s top 100 movie list. The list is a response to the AFI’s Top 100 List. While I really enjoy that the AFI celebrates American Film I think its very important to remember that cinema does not start and end with the United States. There is a lot of good Foreign film out there that is really worth watching. I also feel that the AFI focuses a bit to much on older movies. Their list really says that for a movie to be in the top 100 movies of all time it has to have been around for a while. I disagree with this. There have been a lot of good movies since the 1990s.

For me personally, the best part of this list is the fact that it was created by regular people who just love movies. With the exception of a few people on the list most of the contributors are not paid film critics. We just love movies. I’m proud to have contributed to this list and even though many of my nominated movies didn’t make it into the actual top 100 I have to say this is a fine list of movies.

I want to thank Andrew Olson from Movie Patron and Jonathan Burdick from Cinema Fusion for organizing this. They did a great job getting it completed and I’d like to encourage them to organize a year end list of the top 10 movies by the OFC coming up.

Row Three
Our Partners

Row Three is a collaborative film website that aims to foster discussion and community for those who like their cinema a bit Hollywood, a bit indie and a bit foreign. Formed and run by a collective of writers who try to stray from summer blockbusters and the so-called "popcorn" flicks in favor of a bit more upscale fare. We are not always successful in this endeavor; nonetheless we all love to talk movies and we hope to build a place for everyone to join in on the conversation.
