Film Grotto Podcast Episode 2
Here is Episode 2 of the Film Grotto Podcast. Sorry for the delay in getting it out. My plan is still to post a new podcast each week. Episode 3 should be available for download around the 21st of November.
I once again encourage any comments. This is a learning experience for me. I went with a little less editing of umms and ahhhs on this one so please let me know if it is noticeable.

I figured out what else I didn’t like about American Gangster. Not only was it too generic, but it didn’t have any characters worth rooting for. I know other great movies have that same dilemma, but with AG, I just didn’t care about any of the characters. Something I couldn’t quite put my finger on before; I think that’s it.

There are several great Stephen King adaptated movies: Shawshank, Green Mile, Stand by Me, Misery, Creepshow. But yes, he has a lot of shit too.
Your podcast has gotten better since the last one. There is one point where there are two tracks playing at once; so I hear your voice twice at two different points int he show.
A co-host would definitely be helpful, but I think it’s a pretty good effort overall. Better than my first few attempts for sure! I’m embarrasssed I even have those available for download. I should take them down.

Shoot, thats what I get for cleaning it up late at night I’ll have to fix the multiple tracks tonight.
I don’t mind having anti heroes who you can’t cheer for really although I can see where your coming from. I really think the movie is getting reviewed as well as it is, is only because there are not any other movies of that style out right now.

Much improved second show, though it’s kinda funny the way you like to extend out the last letter in eachhh wordddd youuuu sayyyyyy. Sometimes I think ya gonna start singing.
Good to hear reviews of some older movies. I’ll have to add AFTHOTWTTF on my ‘Must Watch’ list.
Great music. Anyone who puts Bernard Herrmann in their podcast gets a huge round of applause.
Good job!!!

I actually noticed that I was doing that also. It must either be my Saskatchewan accent or more likely that I’m just trying to think of what to say next.
I totally blame my love of AFTHOTWTTF on a former Classics professor. He actually showed it in class. There is one scene where Zero Mostel makes this bizarre face that I really love. It isn’t because the face is funny looking but that he is actually mimicking the look of a mask that would have been used in Roman new comedy.

I’ve just fixed the podcast and I’m currently uploading it. By the time you read this it should be fine.
