Delay for Episode 2 of the Podcast
Hey all,
I started to record the podcast and I discovered that I’d have to talk louder than I would be comfortable with in my hotel room. I’m currently in Kitchener, Ontario for work training so Episode 2 will be released by the end of the weekend. I’m back in Saskatoon Friday morning so I’ll be recording it late Friday or Saturday evening. Sorry for the delay but the walls are pretty thin here in this old hotel and I’d hate to bother my neighbours.
As a heads up I’ll mention that I’m going to cover 2 comedies that I believe most people haven’t seen, plus a little bit about American Gangster and perhaps a quick mention about the Death Note anime series and live action movies that I will have finished watching by the weekend if all goes as planned.
Oh and on a side note, why are there no good restaurants right down on King and Queen Streets in Kitchener? I wandered for about a half hour and only saw small fast food type joints before I headed back to the hotel room for room service.

Hey John. Got a Car? Come on out for the Thursday screener! Kitchener is only 40 minutes (if that) away from my house!

Unfortunately, I’ve got no car and I’m also flying out on Thursday at 6:00 otherwise I would be so there.

That’s too bad indeed! Make sure you get out to the Princess Cinema (not the Twin, the stand alone theatre on Princess St. , it’s a cheap Cab ride from kitchener (5-10 minutes tops) and they are always showing good stuff (2 Days in Paris is tonite at 7pm, Eastern Promises at 9)

I don’t know Kitchener as well as Waterloo which has a number of good (student-ish, cheap!) places to eat, not the least of which are CURRY IN A HURRY (University Ave at UW), The MONGOLIAN GRILL (same plaza) and a Pita place at University and King.
I seem to recall a pretty good Chinese place in Kitchener (with very good Tai Dop Voy), but that was over 10 years ago at this point, and I don’t recall the name of the restuarant or address…so it will just remain a memory.

I might just go hit 2 Days in Paris tonight. I’ve sat in my hotel watching movies on the laptop so it might be good to get out at least one night.
BTW, I have to say that Devil’s Backbone was really good. I wish there were more movies that had ghosts like it had. Only one minor jump scare. The rest of the movie just relied on atmosphere.

Yes, the Devil’s Backbone is one of my favorite films. Top to bottom great.
