Chan-Wook Park’s New Movie about Vampires

Nix over Beyond Hollywood just posted up some information that he has tracked down at a few sources about Chan-Wook Park’s new vampire movie called in Korean, “Bakjwi”.

Here is what Park had to say :

Park [said] that the film is now called Bakjwi (there is no English title yet), and is about a vampire who falls in love with the wife of his best human friend. All right, not the sort of gritty, hardcore vampire film we might expect from the director of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Oldboy, but then love can be a pretty ugly thing…

The director said he hopes to have the film in the can for Sitges 2008, so we’ll keep our ears and eyes open for more between now and then!

So far I only have I’m a Cyborg, But That’s OK and so far I’ve loved every movie that he has done. His stories are always complex and extremely interesting and I can’t wait to check out his view on Vampires.

Our Partners

Row Three is a collaborative film website that aims to foster discussion and community for those who like their cinema a bit Hollywood, a bit indie and a bit foreign. Formed and run by a collective of writers who try to stray from summer blockbusters and the so-called "popcorn" flicks in favor of a bit more upscale fare. We are not always successful in this endeavor; nonetheless we all love to talk movies and we hope to build a place for everyone to join in on the conversation.
